This episode was extremely sloppy for the show and probably should've been re-written. Hilda is literally grounded, travels back in time, uses loopholes to leave the apartment building, messes with the love life of a person she barely knows, and then by the end of it its all instantly resolved without any consequences. The idea that Tildy was the one who even enchanted the original magazine doesn't make any sense either. With such a fantastical world I guess it couldn't just been enchanted somehow through some sort of unknown method and Hilda's neighbor only found it accidentally. It's probably one of the worst "time travel" plots I've ever seen in anything animated or for kids. Hilda once again.. learns nothing and doesn't have to deal with consequences, after we spent the entirety of the final minutes of the previous episode watching her get GROUNDED by her Mom for- not understanding that actions have consequences. A real problem with many of these children's shows is that they never have to deal with consequences. Its actually kind of ridiculous. Granted, its for kids, but kids aren't dumb and sniff out that logic very quickly not making any sort of sense. Victoria the resident weather lady (besides being antagonistic and crazy) had her whole lab knocked down in one episode, but its never brought up again what happened to the ONLY weather lady in Trolsburg? Hilda is a show where previous episodes where Hilda has lied to her mother, lied to people she doesn't know or tries to do something she knows isn't right paint her as a tiny little sociopath who disobeys any authority figures and what's more interesting is that we never see her behavior in school either. I enjoy the show, I think it has a lot of good writing and animation, but far too often I find myself perplexed by everyone forgetting that the main character is an unholy terror and causes more problems than she solves.

Recent evidence has only strengthened my belief that Bill Cypher is Phineas father. The tweet from Alex Hirsch joking or saying he’s voicing Phineas father and The book of Bill reference to the theory on one of the first pages. Now maybe it still doesn’t make the most sense because of other factors, etc but it doesn’t have to because I’ve got a monster truck!

Okay, time for some "Um, actually..." comments. 1. The formula was in a "new and improved" Scooby Snacks recipe. I don't know if that's what you meant by what you said, but I think some people could easily misinterpret it as the formula having been in the Scooby Snacks in general all along. 2. The creature that swallowed Phibes' submarine was a whale SHARK; the gills, white spots, and predominant dorsal fin are dead giveaways. Admittedly, though, it's much bigger than any whale shark seen in the modern day. 3. Shaggy and Scooby didn't disguise themselves as aliens. Robi gave them tubes of lemon-lime pudding for a snack; and Scooby accidentally squirted the pudding allover himself, Shaggy, and Robi. Agents 2, 3, and 7 then saw them out the window. Thinking that they were aliens, they tried to contact them; and Shaggy proposed to Scooby that they play along in order to complete their mission. 4. Uncle Albert told them that the mind controlling "hibachi" could potentially put the studio audience at risk, and thus pointed out that that they could either stay home to avoid the risk of being mind controlled or go to the studio to protect the audience from the risk of being mind controlled. Since the latter had the added bonus of a once in a life time bonus of seeing their favorite show live, it was TWO motives to go vs ONE motive to stay, with one of the two motives for going being a selfless; so, it doesn't really make Shaggy and Scooby the bad guys at all in that episode. 5. We actually hear Phibes call Agent 13 "Dad" in "Don't Feed the Animals". Albeit, it IS easy to miss. 6. Phibes didn't need to be outside the robot for the transformation; it was a safety measure to start it up from the outside in case it collapsed on him in the start up process. 7. The invisible man's name is "Mr. Invisible"; but this is mostly a nitpick on my part.

The theme never bothered me, like AT ALL, in a sort off... AT ALL-ish kinda way. I mean, I can kinda see why some may not like it but not really to the degree that people actually hate it. Honestly, I thought the silhouette of Dr. Phibes doing the Prisiadki was pretty funny. He never did it in the show; but I guess that's why I find it funny, BECAUSE it's out of place.
